EUROLINE® PREMIUM "PLUS"

Much has changed in the last three years in the fibers used to produce fishing nets. Today, trawl makers and fisherman are seeking stronger materials so that smaller diameters can be used to lower the cost of fuel and allow efficient bigger trawls to be built but, still enable easy towing of one or more trawls.

The technique of extruding new fibers is continually improving and there will come a day when a fiber can be tailor made for any particular application.

In the fibers available today for the production of fishing nets, there is a big gap between the stronger ones and the next available both in tenacity and price. The following list shows the most popular current materials:

EUROLINE® PREMIUM "PLUS" FILLS THE GAP

Clearly there is a big difference in breaking strength (grams per denier) between Dyneema, Spectra, and the other products, Euroline® premium being the next strongest. Of course there is always a tremendous difference in the price, which often frustrates the fishermen in trying to justify the significantly higher cost of trawls  built from Dyneema or Spectra. Taking this into consideration, the R&D Division of the Lankhorst/Euronete Group together with a polymer producer have developed a new fiber called Euroline® Premium "PLUS". This new fiber will decrease the gap between the Dyneema and Spectra products and the ones below. The specification of this new fiber is:
Euroline® Premium "PLUS" - 11,5 grams per denier/ 16% elongation at break

YOU CAN BUILD MORE EFFICIENT TRAWLS
To achieve this goal, an investment of approximately $1.5 M was necessary and the dedication of research and development staff for a period of more than one year.
With this new netting material, it is expected that trawl makers and fishermen can build even more efficient trawls. Of course when building trawls, they have to use the best combination of materials available to provide efficient fishing.
With this new development, we have proven that it is a must that netting producers invest heavily in new developments and not only use what is available on the market.
We have seen big investments being made in sophisticated new trawlers. Such investments are also necessary in the netting industry.

Euronete pledges to continue this goal as a world leader in the manufacture of netting. Euroline® Premium "PLUS" will provide the desired characteristics for improving trawls:
Smaller diameter twines can be used for the same strength
Good stretch recovery without major deformation
      High abrasion resistance
Clean fishing (example - jelly fish will not adhere to the netting)
Economical compared to Dyneema and Spectra
Euroline®  Premium "PLUS", is the latest step forward in the new generation of netting materials available from Euronete.
Euronete® Premium "PLUS" is available in the following twine sizes and specifications.

TO COVER YOUR NEEDS
On this line of Euroline® Premium "PLUS" netting, we decide to go only on the twine sizes from 1,0 mm to 5,0 mm. This, because we consider that on the heavy sizes like 6 mm and 8 mm the present line of Euroline® Premium netting is sufficient strong for the needs. Anyway, we are prepared in case of need to produce heavier sizes than the present 5 mm in Euroline® Premium "PLUS" netting.
